The Howelsen Park Ice Arena is situated next to Howelsen Hill Ski Area in downtown Steamboat. It's open to the public year round. It's Steamboat's only ice rink, consisting of an Olympic size rink and bleachers for watching.

Special events are held throughout the year. The ice arena regularly hosts skating camps, hockey tournaments and leagues, and fun games like broomball and bumber cars on ice. Drop in hockey is also provided, for those not looking to join a full league.
