Tucked away north of Steamboat Springs, Hahn’s Peak Roadhouse features a variety of summer and winter activities, in addition to a large restaurant bar. Hahn’s Peak is located about an hour north of Steamboat Ski Resort.
Open year round for lunch and dinner, the Roadhouse is known throughout the Yampa Valley for live music every Saturday night, with local and national acts, ranging from blues and rock, to country and bluegrass. The Roadhouse also rents out hotel rooms, one bedroom cabins, loft cabins and two bedroom cabins throughout the year. Six RV parking spots are available for with electric service only.
Summer fun includes wagon rides, horseback riding and ATV rentals. In the winter enjoy snowmobiling, horseback rides and sleigh rides. Courtesy transportation is provided for all the winter activities from Steamboat’s Gondola Transit Center. Dress warmly for winter fun, with gloves, goggles, ski pants and jacket and waterproof boots. Reservations are recommended.
Choose between four and eight hour unguided snowmobile sessions. Helmets and gas are provided. Access to Steamboat Lake and Routt National Forest is available just outside the Roadhouse door. You must be 21+ and have a valid driver’s license in order to rent a sled.
Shorter two hour guided tours are offered three times daily throughout the winter. Driver’s must be 16+ with a valid driver’s license. You can also take an afternoon tour that’s followed by a cozy three-course dinner in the lodge. You can also combine a one hour guided snowmobile tour with a one hour horseback ride.
Year round you can ride horses through beautiful Routt County. During winter, combine a one hour horseback trip with an hour-long dash on a snowmobile. Then follow it with a warm lunch or dinner. Or just take the hour long horseback trek.
Summer horseback rides include longer options of an hour, two hours or three to four hours. Shorter trips depart several times a day, with only one three-four trip leaving at 9am. Riders must be at least six years old. Just like in the winter, you can combine a trot with a three-course dinner. Pony rides are available for kids.
There’s not much as peaceful and charming as a sleigh ride in Colorado. Options include a Soup & Sleigh, Hot Cocoa Sleigh or Sleigh Ride Dinner. Each is as it sounds and begins with a 45 minute sleigh ride. The firs two trips include on-board soup or hot cocoa and depart once daily at noon. Two dinner rides are offered each evening, followed by a three-course supper.
Ditching the sleigh for a wagon, keeps the fun rolling on in Hahn’s Peak, long after the snow melts. Take a scenic wagon ride over to Steamboat Lake before returning to the Roadhouse, with an option to combine it with a three-course dinner.
Take a guided tour into the heart of the Routt National Forest. Driver’s must be 16+ with a valid driver’s license to operate an ATV or Ranger. If you want to ditch the guide, you can rent an ATV or Ranger and go out exploring on your own. You must be 25 years old with a valid driver’s license. Wear pants and closed toe shoes.
