Colorado National Speedway features the state’s only Nascar track, a 3/8ths mile paved oval. Located near Erie, the season runs from early April to early October.
The track opened in 1965 and has been pleasing Colorado race fans ever since. It’s conveniently located about twenty minutes north of Denver on I-25. Each season has around thirty full-throttle, NASCAR events on the schedule.
Drivers from around the state and region race throughout the season, earning points toward the season-ending track championship. They also compete in the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series, which offers over a million dollars in national prize money throughout the season of 66 selected facilities.
Kids can register for an opportunity to be trophy presenters at each race. There are a number of concession stands, with a variety of food and drink. The Souvenir Shack sells cool merchandise. Autograph sessions and free access to the pit area after the races, assure you have a memorable time.
