Aurora’s High Prairie Park hosts its annual Aurora Borealis Festival in mid-October. Presented by Visit Aurora, this world-class event recreates the northern lights experience on the Front Range of Colorado.
This year’s festival takes place on Friday and Saturday, October 10th and 11th, 2025. It’s a family-friendly event featuring interactive lighting installations and a recreation of the northern lines. Dine at the Flavors of Aurora Food Court, and shop the global gift bazaar.

An array of artists put together the illumination installations. Each one has a QR code, so people can vote on their favorite. Winners will be announced on the Mainstage at 9 pm on Saturday, October 11th.
Live music will take place on the Painted Prairie Mainstage throughout the Aurora Borealis Festival. There’s also a Silent Disco, featuring a headphone-powered dance experience.
This is a cashless event, so bring your credit card. VIP tickets are available too, which grant you fast entry, primo parking, access to a private main stage viewing area, and an exclusive VIP lounge, which includes complimentary gourmet catering, a souvenir mug for your two free drinks, and a private light display.
