Salida is a picturesque town perfect for celebrating any holiday, and Christmas is probably its most famous. The local Tenderfoot Mountain, which rises over downtown, showcases a lit-up 750-foot “Christmas Tree” all holiday season long.
Christmas Mountain is an incredible display of more than 4,500 LED bulbs, visible from all over town. It stays lit from Saturday, November 28th, 2025, running to January 4th, 2026. Enjoy the evenings strolling Salida’s large historic district.

On Saturday, November 28th, the Parade of Lights happens at 6 pm before the lighting of the tree. Head to downtown Salida for this wonderful show. It features dazzling floats and Christmas magic. The whole town gets illuminated for a celebration of the holiday season.
