Howelsen Park Ice Arena

Howelsen Ice Arena

Howelsen Ice Arena in Steamboat Springs.

Howelsen Park Ice Arena is Steamboat’s only ice rink, consisting of an Olympic size rink and bleachers for watching. It’s situated next to Howelsen Hill Ski Area in downtown.

Special events are held throughout the year. They regularly host skating camps, hockey tournaments and leagues, and fun games like broomball and bumber cars on ice. Drop in hockey is also offered, for those not looking to join a full league.

The city of Steamboat runs the ice arena and has full schedules of all the activities and special events on their website.

Both figure and ice hockey skate rentals are available.

Howelsen Park’s winter activities include downhill skiing, cross country skiing, snowshoeing, and snow tubing.

Howler Alpine Slide runs in the summer, as does the rodeo.
