If you ever feel the need to escape from the activities and places of everyday life, then Schweiger Ranch is the place for you. Amidst all the development in Lone Tree, Colorado, this is the only historic property still prospering.
The Schweiger Ranch Foundation, a non-profit organization, claims to represent “where the past meets the present”. The unique activities and other opportunities at Schweiger Ranch are sure to keep you both entertained and open your mind to new ways of life.
History

John, Jacob, and Joseph Schweiger founded the Schweiger Ranch homestead in 1874. Operated by the family until the 1950s, the land was sold multiple times, with the ranch falling into ruin.
Years later, in 2001, a preservation architect came to the site and began a restoration project that brought the ranch back to life. Through state historical fund grants, renovations continued and were finally completed in 2016. Today, this site aims to provide the public with a place to explore the past.
The Schweiger Ranch is a protected Douglas County historic landmark, and in 2017, it received the Hart Award for Historic Preservation. This historic park and event center is sure to continue this impressive legacy of preservation and education well into the future.
