Sundance Trail Ranch is cowboy heaven nestled away in northern Colorado, just a two-hour drive from Denver. What makes the establishment unique among other dude ranches is that it’s the smallest dude ranch in the Colorado Dude & Guest Ranch Association.
Open year-round, the property is owned by a couple of very passionate who enjoy caring for people through dude ranching and horseback riding. Unlike many dude ranches, the Sundance Trail Ranch is a pet-friendly establishment and doesn’t charge extra for bringing along your furry friends.
Activities
The ranch also has a recreation barn, which houses the jacuzzi, boot barn, and where games such as shooting pool and foosball are played. Activities such as horseback riding, private lessons and coaching, world-class disc golf, hiking, and ranch games can be enjoyed throughout the year. Another unique feature of the ranch is that they let guests swim with the horses.
During the summer, you can enjoy river rafting, shooting and archery, rock climbing, campfires, fishing, square dancing, and horseback riding for boy scouts and girl scouts. During the fall, winter and spring, available activities are murder mystery weekends, weddings, elopement, family reunions, and a visit to the Red Feather Lakes for a unique massage experience.
Their kid’s program also guarantees that the young ones will have a blast. The ranch gives families and couples a special opportunity to bond, connect with nature, disconnect from the rest of the world, and create lifelong memories. All of those are done with a dose of old western charm.
Accommodations
Guests to the ranch can choose between staying in either a cabin or suite, all of which vary in size, number of bedrooms, and amenities. Each is cozy and has private baths, decks, and entrances. Additionally, they also offer daily maid service and their staff makes sure that every need of the guests is fulfilled.
