Take a step back in time and learn about what life was like during the early 1870s at the Golden History Museum & Park. Discover the big, little, joyous, and devastating events that helped shape Golden into the town it is today.
The intriguing history of Golden is told through over 16,000 objects and artifacts donated by the town’s locals since 1938.
Events, a research center, educational programs, a hands-on gallery for kids, and exhibits are a few of the ways that the Golden History Museum & Park offers its visitors information. There is also a three-acre outdoor learning center with buildings created to replicate what a 19th-century homestead was like in Golden.

Some of the exhibits featured at this museum include:
- Craft Beer and Pizza
- Confection Perfection: Jolly Rancher Company
- Malted Milk
- Legendary People
- The Salon
- Touch Gallery
For those looking to purchase a memento, the museum has a gift shop with various history-inspired items and souvenirs. Across the creek from the museum is the History Park, where visitors can further explore the area’s past. The park is free to walk around, and it is open seven days a week.
