For kids starting their first team sport or teens perfecting their BMX tricks, Gossage Youth Sports Complex is the place to be! Dedicated by the city to MLB pitcher Richard Michael “Goose” Gossage, a local legend who grew up in Colorado Springs, this 40-acre outdoor facility has accommodations for many common sports.
Activities
Visitors to the Gossage Youth Sports Complex can choose between hitting the skateboard and BMX parks or joining a city Little League team.
Skateboarding & BMX
With two large bowls, several ramps, and rails, the skate park at Gossage is the perfect place for older kids to hang out while their siblings practice ball at one of the nearby diamonds. If they prefer two wheels instead of four, the BMX park is equipped with some basic ramps, perfect for beginners.
Baseball, Softball, and T-Ball
Many Colorado Springs-area kiddos have started their baseball careers with Little League at Gossage. The City offers youth baseball, softball, and t-ball for those in Pre-K – 9th grade, which requires paying a registration fee. The season starts in early May, and games are played at parks throughout the City, including the Gossage Sports Complex.
Offering plenty of outdoor areas for a range of sports, both children and teenagers will enjoy visiting the Gossage Youth Sports Complex. While the kids run around on the fields or hang out with their friends at the parks, parents can enjoy Colorado Springs’ stellar scenic views.
