The High Lonesome Ranch – De Beque

FacebookTwitter

The High Lonesome Ranch is a working cattle ranch that’s unique because its landscape bridges large ecosystems. The staff work to conserve and restore the landscape, which in turn helps the wildlife spanning from Mexico to Canada to roam and thrive.

Acting primarily as a conservation organization, guests not only get to have a wonderful western adventure but also learn about maintaining biodiversity and ecological connectivity. Nearly four hours from Denver, being a cowboy or a cowgirl is no longer a fantasy but a way of living at the High Lonesome Ranch.

Accommodations

Lodging at the ranch is luxurious, providing guests modern amenities with rich, rustic comfort. Each cabin has its own personality and is equipped with large televisions, private baths, and fully stocked kitchens.

The High Lonesome Ranch practices farm-to-table food preparation and menu depends on the desire of the guest. All meals are thoughtfully prepared, and paired with wine, creating a time for everyone to get together, bond, and share their days. In addition to making their own sodas, barrel-aged cocktails, and beers, the ranch’s beef is also raised on-site.

Activities

Guests can design how they want their vacation to be by choosing a package that best fits their liking. The ranch offers a fly-fishing package, spring turkey and fly-fishing package, dude ranch packages cast and blast, wing shooting, and big game hunting. You can also build a custom package for a unique western vacation experience.

Guests who wish to horseback ride during their stay will be paired with a horse for the duration of their trip. Gallop through trails breathing fresh mountain air and looking over majestic mountain vistas. As a working cattle ranch, guests can observe and even take part in the staff working the cattle.

Depending on the time of the year, guests can either go fly fishing or on a full fly fishing expedition. The ranch is an Orvis endorsed Fly Fishing Lodge and all their guides and instructors are certified by Orvis.

Wing shooting begins in the fall, however, guests can participate in shooting sports throughout the year. You can go on a turkey hunt, wild horse viewing, mountain biking, hiking, birding, and wildlife gazing. The ranch is a perfect place to create lifelong nature memories and has a blast doing it.
