Established at the end of nineteenth century, Meeker Hotel & Cafe is Northwest Colorado’s oldest hotel that’s still operating today. It’s tucked away in the small ranching town of Meeker.
Historic Hotel in Downtown Meeker
The Meeker Hotel and Café in Meeker used to be a military barracks. It was established in 1896 and since then has been passed on to different owners and had undergone several changes.
The building where the Meeker Café originally stands was originally called the Vorges Building and back then served as Meeker’s Post Office Building and a National Bank Building.
Room Types
The hotel has 14 rooms that are designed with modern and antique touches. All rooms are inclusive of a private bathroom, free wireless internet, and flat screen television. Guests also have access to the balcony, fireplace and guest lounge.
Some rooms are named after famous people who have visited the hotel like silver screen star Gary Cooper and Eleanor Roosevelt. Some suites offer a separate sitting area and a view of the Main Street.
Penthouse Apartment – Their premier and biggest accommodation includes two bedrooms, a full size kitchen, living room area, and a shower bathroom. The room gives their guests a pleasant view of downtown Meeker.
Meeker Café
The beautiful brick walled restaurant has received recognitions from the Meeker Chamber of Commerce and True West Magazine. The Old West vibe and the rustic feel will make guests feel like they’ve stepped in a different period of time.
The casual and relaxed café is open Monday-Sunday from 7 am to 8 pm. Try their Country Fried Steak Dinner which is a local favorite or choose any from their delicious menu.
