Howelsen Park Ice Arena is Steamboat’s only ice rink, consisting of an Olympic-sized rink and bleachers. Situated next to Howelsen Hill Ski Area, the arena regularly host skating camps, hockey tournaments, and leagues as well as fun games like broomball and bumper cars.
Special events are held throughout the year and a drop-in hockey is also offered for those not looking to join a full league. The city of Steamboat runs the ice arena and has full schedules of all the activities and special events on its website. Both figure and ice hockey skate rentals are available.
Howelsen Park’s winter activities include downhill skiing, cross country skiing, and snowshoeing. Howler Alpine Slide runs in the summer, as does the rodeo.
