One of the newest additions to the West Elks AVA is the French-inspired winery at Leroux Creek Inn. Opening in June of 2017 for tastings, Leroux Creek Inn planted its first grapes in 2002, with plans to keep growing.
French-born Yvon, and his wife Joanna, have brought a taste of province to Colorado with their dream of starting a vineyard and country inn.
Wines, Tours and Tastings
Their vineyard spans four acres of their 54-acre farm. They grow French and American hybrid grapes – Chambourcin and Cayuga – both hearty grapes made to survive the winters. The grapes are grown organically without the use of harsh chemicals.
Their wine list includes the gold medal winner at the Sonoma County Harvest 2010 – the 2010 & 2011 Chambourcin, a Cayuga white, My Cherry Amour (cherry fruit-based wine), Rose de Leroux (dry Rose), and the Apres Vous (a port wine). They also use local in-season fruits to make small batches of their yummy fruit wines.
Tastings are typically offered daily during the summer and fall months. But it is always advised to call ahead of time to ensure there is someone there. Enjoy tastings with Yvon at the winery’s underground cellar and savor a glass of wine on the outdoor patio found above the tasting room for spectacular panoramic views.
Overnight Accommodations
The inn at Leroux Creek is a Southwest-style adobe that sits on the southeastern flank of Colorado’s Grand Mesa. Because of its vista vantage point, beautiful views of the mountains and valley are found at almost every corner of the property. The inn offers five distinct rooms, each uniquely decorated and with its own scenic views.
All rooms feature a private bath, spa robes, and slippers for those evenings relaxing in the outdoor hot tub.

Dining
People don’t just come for the wine and the views, they come for the food as well. Yvon and Joanna bring the taste of France to your table with French classics using local produce, meat, and fish from farms and ranches in the area. From artisan cheeses and freshly made bread to wine pairings and an elegant outdoor dining experience, dinner at the Leroux Creek Inn is an unforgettable encounter.
Events
The inn and vineyard host a winemaker’s dinner at their Paella at the Vineyard event. Yvon shares with guests and visitors a Paella dinner paired with their award-winning wines, all set underneath their beautiful tent – watching as the sunsets on another beautiful day in the valley.
The winery also participates in area events including, North Fork Uncorked, Cherry Days, and the Mountain Harvest Festival.
