Crested Butte Mountain Bike Park Downhill Biking

Crested Butte Mountain Bike Park – Crested Butte

FacebookTwitter

The Crested Butte Mountain Resort added a bike park in 2009 that features 30-plus miles of single-track trails. Whether you’re a beginner or expert, the park was created to serve the needs of all riders.

It features downhill trails and cross-country trails accessible by chairlift, which take you through Crested Butte. The Red Lady Express, the park’s chairlift, operates daily from early June through the first week of September and then weekends only from that point until early October. The lift carries mountain bikers, hikers, disc golfers and archers to the middle of the mountain to access many biking and hiking trails along with archery and disc golf courses.

If you’re new to the biking trail game or just looking to build some skills, the park has professional bike guides that can teach you essentials like proper braking skills, technical descents and how to traverse difficult terrain. The team of certified guides offers 2-hour group lessons, 2-hour private lessons, 4-hour private lessons and even 7-hour private lessons. The packages include bike rental and lift ticket.

For the more experienced riders, take a shot at the eight black diamond and two double black diamond trails the park has to offer. Wondering what to bring if you’re not taking a lesson? To start, you must have closed-toed sneakers. It’s also recommended that you bring a mountain biking backpack, lunch and snack, water bottle, sunscreen, eyewear, gloves, knee pads and elbow pads. The bike shop does offer bikes, helmets and body armor for rent, if needed.

“Awesome bike park,” “Great mountain biking trails,” and “Best in Colorado” are just a few ways users described their experience. There’s nothing better than going out and experiencing the great outdoors and the Crested Butte Mountain Bike Park is a great way to do that. Get out there and hit the trails!
