Nestled next to the foothills of the Rocky Mountain Front Range, you’ll find the Fossil Trace Golf Club. This premier golf destination opened in July 2003 in the historic city of Golden, where dinosaurs made their mark more than sixty-four million years ago.
On the 12th green of the golf club, you’ll find Triceratops footprints and prehistoric fossils. Throughout the course’s layout you’ll notice remnants of clay mining equipment left behind from its mining heyday.
Fossil Trace is proud of its name and heritage. Inside of the clubhouse, there’s an ongoing exhibit that expands on the property’s past. Additionally, you’ll learn more about the dinosaur tracks and fossils discovered during the excavation of Fossil Trace’s 18-hole golf course.
