Mesa Drive-In – Pueblo

FacebookTwitter

The Mesa Drive-In is Colorado’s largest drive-in movie theatre. Located in Pueblo, Colorado, it offers double features for the price of one, along with three screens, a concession stand, and ample room for parking.

History

The Mesa Drive-In opened on August 17, 1951. The first movies ever shown on its screen were the American western, The Texas Rangers, and two animated Disney films, Ichabod and Mr. Toad and The Three Little Pigs.

When the theatre first launched, it only had one screen. In 2000, two new screens were added to celebrate its 50th anniversary. Despite the additions, the drive-in’s capacity remains high. It can hold up to 1,000 cars, not far off from the 980 cars the original lot started with.

What to Expect

This 1950’s style outdoor cinema welcomes guests on a first come, first served basis. Featuring 3 screens with a different double feature showing on each, there is something available for every member of the family.

The drive-in broadcasts sound over an FM radio station. You must have a working radio in your car to hear it. Boom boxes are not permitted, and radio apps will not work.

Lawn chairs are permitted, but they must be contained to your vehicle’s space. Outside food and beverages are allowed. Alcohol is not permitted.

Concessions

The concession stand remains open during all features and offers a wide variety of food. Enjoy everything from snacks and appetizers to full meals to desserts.

  • Nachos
  • Popcorn
  • Burritos
  • Hot Dogs
  • Corn Dogs
  • Soft Drinks
  • French Fries
  • Onion Rings
  • Cheeseburgers
  • Ice Cream Cones

You can call ahead and place your order in advance for faster service, or wait until you arrive.
