In northeastern Longmont near the Union Reservoir, Stephen Day Park is a small public park found along the Spring Gulch Trail, located next to Fall River Elementary School. Open from 5 am to 10 pm all year long, the park is a popular spot for picnics and a variety of sports and includes an off-leash dog area.
At about 5 acres in total size, the park is named for local War Veteran and Bronze Star Recipient, Stephen Day.
Stephen Day Park Accessibility
Established in the summer of 2005, Stephen Day Park can be found on Deerwood Drive, at the eastern terminus of East Mountain View Ave. Throughout the park, there is a large network of paved paths open to all mobility levels with some shade and many places to rest. Free public bathrooms are available during park hours near the playgrounds and picnic shelters.
While many arrive by walking or riding along on the greenway, the designated parking lot at Stephen Day Park features 40 vehicle spaces, two of which are handicap accessible. The parking lot is located on the west side of the park, and additional spaces may be available at the elementary school, found further north along Deerwood Drive.
