Crested Butte Nordic features more than 55 kilometers of groomed trails situated on the outskirts of town. Three trailheads access both classic and skate skiing.
Snow shoes, cross country skis, and ice skates are available for rent. Cross country ski clinics offered. There’s also an outdoor ice rink free for use too.
Those looking to extend the fun can venture into the national forest trails for an overnight trip. There are two nice huts in Gothic (the ghost town) for nightly rent for winter snowshoe and cross country ski trips.
Events include the Goretex Grand Traverse, which covers 40 miles and 7800 vertical over 8-16 hours. The Dynafit Nachtspektakel hosts a twilight dinner to preview the start of the Traverse.
