Known for it’s bottled water business, Eldorado Springs has long been a popular summertime retreat in Colorado. The resort is centered around a large swimming pool, open during the summer.
At the time of it’s opening in 1905, it was regarded as the largest swimming pool in the country. People came from all over. They traveled by train and horseback to visit the “Coney Island of the West”.
In the summer it’s a good choice for those looking to relax and have fun in the sun. Eldorado Springs pool runs from Memorial Day to Labor Day. It is fed directly by an artesian spring and has long been used for its therapeutic values.
Facility
There is one large, fully developed swimming pool filled with natural mineral water from an artesian spring. The water originates as rain and snow, just east of the Continental Divide. The water flows east into an aquifer that passes underneath Eldorado Springs at a depth of 8,000′.
The Eldorado Springs pool is equipped with a slide and a diving board. The temperature is like an ordinary swimming pool, ranging between 72 and 82° F. Aside from a pool, you’ll find changing rooms and a snack bar. The bottled water plant is also on site. The place is themed like an Old West fort.
Atmosphere
Family friendly swimming pool; Beautiful scenery-located in a canyon with views of the foothills.
