The Big Mine Ice Arena is an outdoor covered ice skating rink situated in historic Crested Butte. It’s used as a hockey rink in the winter and an event center in the summer.
There is a charge to use the ice rink. Ice skate rentals are available for kids and adults. League hockey games happen throughout the winter. In addition to ice skating, there’s a Nordic Center with cross country skiing.
After you’re finished skating, head over to Crested Butte’s iconic ski town for a wintertime stroll and a bit to eat. You should be properly prepared now to deal with the icy, snow-covered sidewalks.
