Due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, the Rotary Park Ice Rink is closed for the 2021-2022 season, however, it should be opening for 2022-2023.
Situated one mile north of Ouray’s historic district, Rotary Park hosts a seasonal ice rink for the Western Slopers. It’s open daily during the winter and is an is all-natural rink created by the cold temperatures of the Rockies. It’s usually open from mid-December to early March, depending on the weather. The rink is also lit at night to allow magical skating under the stars.
Outdoor Ice Skating in Ouray County
Weather you decide to bring your own skates or rent them from Ouray Hot Springs Pool, the Rotary Park rink is a great place to take the family. There are often hockey and broomball competitions that guests can join by contacting the City of Ouray. Make sure to use caution when skating, especially when it’s above freezing, as water can pool on the ice.

Taken care of my a city volunteer group, on-site there is a warming hut as well as several picnic tables and a volleyball net in the area, which are typically used during the summer. In the warmer months, rock climbing is popular at the park.
