One Hundred Gold Mine offers guided tours hourly, during the May to October season. It’s located in a scenic section of the San Juan’s, fifteen minutes from historic Silverton.
The tour begins as you ride in a miner’s “mantrip” 1/3 mile underground. From there you and your tour group explore on foot with guide. You’ll follow the original tunnels and vein while learning how mining was done.
This mine has been around since 1904 and sits at 10,000 feet above sea level. It was named one of Colorado’s best mine tours by a number of publications. There is free gold panning with purchase of a tour.
A gift shop offers various mine souvenirs, from rocks and minerals to books and postcards. Drinks and snacks are available as well.
