Buena Vista Heritage Museum is housed in the historic Chaffee County Courthouse. The building was completed in 1882 shortly after Buena Vista became the county seat. It later served as a school house.
There are several rooms and sections full of colorful and informative displays. Highlights include mining relics, traditional clothing, an old jail cell door, and a working model railroad of the Upper Arkansas River Valley in 1900.
The museum operates during the summer season.
