Established in 1988, Telluride Outfitters is the area’s most experienced touring company, operating daily. They offer several different snowmobile tours during the winter season for all levels of experience.
Tours vary from beginner-friendly groomed trails to expert backcountry treks. You can visit a historic ghost town, soak in mineral hot springs, enjoy a hot lunch or rip through open meadows on your snowmobile tour. Seasoned guides will educate you of the area’s history and landmarks.
Guide Snowmobile Tours
Alta Ghost Town Tour – Two hour tours to Alta ghost town are offered three times daily. Single and double riders are welcome.

Barllow Creek Backcountry Tour – Full day8 hour tour leading to remote, high elevation non-groomed trails. It’s best for intermediate and advanced riders. There are plenty of chances to roam on your own and climb hills. A box lunch is provided. Only single riders, no two passenger snowmobiles allowed.
Dunton Hot Springs Tour – Full day 8 hour tour to the private hot springs and historic town of Dunton (filmed in the movie The Hateful Eight!). Trails are not groomed, so there’s a good amount of free play in open meadows. Lunch and a soak at Dunton are included. Guide ratio 1:3. oth single and double passenger snowmobile rentals are available.
Driver’s must be at least 16 years old with a valid license. Passengers must be 6. Driver’s must be 21 if passengers are under 18. Helmets are provided. Please dress warmly as you would for the ski slopes, with gloves and goggles or sunglasses. Limited snow boots and snow suits are available free of charge.
