Buttermilk is one of the smaller ski resorts in the area, with 44 trails spread out across 470 acres. Divided into three distinct zones, each has its own base area and chair lift. The primary base is Main Buttermilk, and this is where the ski school is located. The Buttermilk Summit Express chairlift serves this area, which was constructed in 1993 and can hold four people per ride.

It has 134 chairs, so the lines move quickly, taking about 11 minutes to travel the 9,581-feet to the top of Buttermilk Mountain. A the top, you will be dropped off right next to a variety of hiking and biking trails. With a vertical rise of 1,829-feet, you will get picturesque views of the surrounding mountains on your way up.

If you get hungry, the Cliffhouse restaurant serves food and drinks, and while eating, you will have panoramic views of Pyramid Peak.
