History
Copper Mountain lies about 75 miles outside of Denver, in Summit County, Colorado. A ski resort opened here in 1972 and remains in operation today. Popular sporting events have been held at Copper Mountain since its opening, and its natural beauty has been captured on film.

Its first detachable chairlift, dubbed the American Flyer, was built in 1986, and continues to carry guests up the mountain to this day.
What to Expect
The Rocky Mountain Coaster is an exciting ride through the alpine forests of Copper Mountain. Coast 5,800 feet of tracks that make the Rocky Mountain Coaster one of the longest alpine coasters in North America. You’ll descend a vertical of 430 feet. Car speed is controlled by individual drivers and can go up to 25 miles per hour. Children are welcome to ride along, though driver restrictions apply.
In the winter, you can also take on Copper’s tubing hill, or ice skating on the local Copper Mountain West Lake Ice Rink.
Admission and Hours
Tickets are available online and at the the Rocky Mountain Coaster Cabin, near the American Flyer lift. The coaster is closed Monday – Thursday. Open weekends only.

Hours are depended upon the weather, and can change frequently. Check ahead of time before arriving. The Rocky Mountain Coaster is open during both the summer and winter seasons.
Tickets are good for one ride only and must be purchased before getting in line. All guests who wish to drive must be at least 52″ tall and 9 years or older. Younger guests may ride along as a passenger.
Tickets sell out frequently, especially during the summer months. Booking ahead of time is encouraged.
