Bonny Lake is a former state park, which is now a state wildlife area, called South Republican. It lies near the eastern edge of Colorado, by the South Republican River. The visitor center is closed for good, the lake has dried up to nearly a mud-hole, and the area is now used primarily for hunting. The 13,000-acre area offers deer, turkey, waterfowl, and small game hunting.
