Vail Nordic Center offers a range of beginner and advanced terrain at the base of the magnificent Gorge Range. Nordic skiers can access 17 kilometers of trails, while snowshoers have access to a separate ten kilometers.
Brick Hill Trail is a favorite, which leads you east along Gore Creek out to the Beaver Ponds. There’s a free town bus that runs regularly from Vail Village to the Nordic Center. It’s also free to park there if you’re using the trails.
Three kinds of skis are rented: classic, skate and backcountry, in addition to Rossignol demo skis. They also rent snowshoes and sleds to pull the kids. The retail shop sells a full line of skis, waxes and apparel. Fresh made soups and snacks are available inside.
Special events occur throughout the season, with everything from races and skate lessons to a free demo day and Nordic Ski Swap. They are a PSIA Member Ski School, with beginner, private and master programs.
