Royal Gorge Cabins at Echo Canyon in Cañon City is a rental service for luxurious cabins, vacation homes, and glamping tents. They all have high-tech conveniences and breathtaking vistas of the surrounding mountains.
The location is perfect because it is far enough into the Rocky Mountains to get away from the city but close enough to many great outdoor activities and sights. Pets are not allowed in the accommodations, but visitors with furry companions can keep them at a nearby boarding facility.
Cabins, Tents, and Vacation Houses
Whether in the summer or winter, these cabin rentals provide a peaceful, private setting surrounded by natural beauty. There are lodges with one bedroom, and one bathroom and others with two bedrooms and 1.5 bathrooms.
The cabins are available all year and provide guests with a comfortable spot to rest their heads after a day of exploring the area. Amenities include full kitchens, indoor and outdoor fireplaces, and living space. Wi-Fi, a flat-screen cable TV, and a full-size couch are also available in the cabin.
Two vacation homes, Piñon House and Echo House sleep between six and ten people and offer many comforts of home and similar amenities to the cabins.
Tent structures with canvas walls are also available for rent at Royal Gorge Cabins. Options that sleep two to four people and are furnished with queen-sized mattresses, full-sized sofas, fire pits, plush bedding, private patios, picnic tables, and unlimited use of a nearby shared bathhouse. From Memorial Day to Labor Day, guests can enjoy the on-site restaurant’s complete menu and bar. Parking, housekeeping, and board games are available at the property too.
The seasonal restaurant is called the 8 Mile Bar & Grill and features fantastic American fare, including burgers, sandwiches, and salads. Or, just belly up to the bar for a cold microbrew before heading out to see the sights.

Whether you’re in the mood for whitewater rafting down stunning portions of the Arkansas River or taking a scenic train trip through mountain gorges, there’s plenty to do at the Royal Gorge. Fishing, hiking, and other activities are popular ways to discover the wonderful region. The stunning Royal Gorge is also home to the tallest zipline in the United States.
