The Wanderlust Hostel is a peaceful, well-kept residential hostel only minutes from the center of Gunnison and 28 miles from Crested Butte. Excellent for parties, families, couples, and even lone travelers, this lodge has various rooming options, including private and shared quarters.
There is a free bus a block away to reach the heart of downtown Gunnison, where you’ll find restaurants, shops, and ski lifts, or rent a bike from the hostel and pedal around the town.
Amenities
Guests may use this location’s sizeable common kitchen, living area, and garden. Lockers on-site are available, but guests must bring their own lock. Other amenities that help to make it feel like home include an outdoor BBQ grill, an indoor fireplace, complimentary tea and coffee, movies, games, and books to use on-site.

Lodging
Dorm-style rooms and private accommodations are both offered at this hostel. In the multi-person guestrooms, visitors use bunk beds in beautifully decorated, simple, and immaculate rooms. There’s also a large family room that can sleep six people.
Rules
In order to keep this place safe and comfortable for everyone, a few guidelines have been put in place. Aside from being a non-smoking property and requiring everyone to be respectful of others, the rules are:
- Quiet hours from 10 pm to 7:30 am
- Pets are allowed for a nightly fee (ask beforehand)
- The hostel is not responsible for guests’ personal items
- Valid ID is required for check-in
