Since 1972 the sleigh rides at the Winding River Resort have been creating stories that can be shared back home for the whole family. Winding River is situated about 3 miles away from the Grand Lake Village and borders the Rocky Mountain National Park and the Arapaho National Forest.
Its current owners Wes and Marcia make sure everything is up to the highest standards, from their recreational sites to their horses. Different accommodations are also available on-site. Guests can choose from cabins, lodge rooms, and tent sites.
Christmas Sleigh Rides in Grand Lake
The Winding River Resort sleigh ride tours are only available from mid of December through the 31st. They have group rides that can fit 5-12 guests, and private rides good for 2-4 guests. Children 4 years old and younger ride free. Sleighs are sure to be comfortable, with a dog tagging along the trip. Hot cocoa and marshmallows for roasting await at the end of the tour.
Other winter activities to enjoy include snowmobiling and snowshoeing. Summer activities on the other hand include camping, trail rides, hayrides, pony rides, fishing, hiking, and wildlife viewing. Attractions are available as well, such as an animal farm, carriage and sleigh museum, and a cowboy church. Winding River Resort can accommodate special events, reunions, and weddings.
