Open since 1986, the Rocky Mountain Wildlife Park is home to animals native to this area, including elk, bear, cougar, wolf, grizzly, and bobcat. It’s located along Highway 84 about 5 miles south of Pagosa Springs.
All of the animals in the Park are non-releasable due to reasons including, lack of fear of people and reliance on humans for food. The hike is about a half-mile through the park. Live tours are done at feeding time so people can get the most out of their visit. They last about an hour.
