On Snowmass Mountain, you will find the Elk Camp Gondola, which offers more than just a way to get you back to the summit for skiing. Taking this to the top will give you the perfect opportunity to enjoy incredible views and reach an abundance of fun activities and delicious dining options.
The Elk Camp Gondola
The Elk Camp Gondola at Snowmass Ski Resort opened in December of 2006 and can carry up to 8 people per ride. It takes about 14 minutes to get to Elk Camp Meadows from Base Village. From Elk Camp Meadows, you can take a chairlift to the summit or you can make your way over to the Lost Forest.

This is where the alpine coaster, ropes course, and rock-climbing wall are located. It’s also the start of many biking trails, a disc golf course, and a fishing pond.
Elk Camp Restaurant
The Elk Camp Restaurant is known for its delicious hand-tossed pizzas made from scratch and created from locally sourced ingredients. If for no other reason, dining at the Elk Camp Restaurant is worth the gondola ride! They have a grass lawn with yard games, a large deck for eating outside during the summer, and a large fireplace inside to keep you cozy and warm during the winter.
Tickets & Hours
You have three ticket options for using the gondolas: the Single Ride Sightseeing Ticket, The Sightseeing package, and the Summer Sightseeing Pass. The Sightseeing package includes three days of unlimited gondola and chairlift rides for the Silver Queen Gondola (Aspen Mountain) or the Snowmass Elk Camp Gondola and Chair.

In addition, you will receive a lunch credit for the Sundeck restaurant, Ajax Tavern, or the Elk Camp Restaurant, all of which are located at the top of the mountain. The Summer Sightseeing Season Pass gives you full summer lift access on the Buttermilk’s Summit Express chair lift, the Silver Queen Gondola (Aspen Mountain), and the Snowmass Elk Camp Gondola and Chair.
