Grand Lake Nordic Center is an amazing choice for snowshoeing and classic skiing for all ages. With over 35 km of manicured trails, including a dog-friendly ski and snowshoe loop, there is something for everyone to love.
Savor the breathtaking views of Rocky Mountain National Park and Arapaho National Forest while you enjoy the tranquil snow covered trails. Each Friday (except holidays), kids ski free!
Equipment Rentals
Don’t worry if you don’t own snowshoe or ski equipment, you can easily rent what you need from the retail shop. Sign up for a lesson if you need a little help getting the hang of it all. There are also season passes available.
Food
After a long day in the snow, the Sly Fox Restaurant is the perfect place to grab a warm meal and relax. Their soups and chili are made daily, and their full bar is ready to quench your thirst. For a quick bite, the Lodge has a soup kitchen that runs during the winter.
Tubing
Grand Lake Nordic Center has a free tubing hill that will create hours of laughter and memories with your loved ones. While there isn’t a tow rope, the path up the hill is packed and cleared for an easy walk with your tube (no metal please) or borrow one from the center.
Events
While the schedule is subject to change, here are a few consistent events at the Grand Lake Nordic Center.
The Grand Lake Classic Race has the option of an 8km or 16km race for adults and a 1.5 or 3km distance for kids. Once you finish, local breweries and restaurants are providing options for you to enjoy.
The Romp & Stomp raises money for the Grand Country Pet Pals. So, bring your dog and enjoy the silent auction, some hot chocolate, and some amazing desserts.
For a romantic cross country ski, grab a two for the price of one pass for Valentine’s Day. Plan to grab a drink and meal at the Sly Fox while you’re there!
The Full Moon Ski event is a fun evening of skiing, bonfires, adult beverages, and chili. Grab your friends and spend the entire day and evening on the trails.
