Howler Alpine Slide – Steamboat Springs

Howler Alpine Slide
The Howler Alpine Slide in Steamboat Springs.

Just a couple of short months after Howelsen Hill Ski Area closes for the season, the Howler Alpine Slide opens for its season. The run takes you on a long track down the front side of Howelsen Hill.

From the top and most of the way down, you’re rewarded with outstanding views of the Yampa Valley, including downtown Steamboat and Steamboat Ski Resort.

Summer Alpine Slide

The track starts at the top of the chair lift and is almost a half-mile long (2400 feet). You are in complete control over the exciting ride down. Proceeds benefit the young athletes of the Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club. Trips depart every 30 minutes with 8 guests per trip.

Howelsen Park also has an indoor ice rink open year-round and the Pro Rodeo Series from mid-June to mid-August.
