The Breckenridge Nordic Center offers a wonderful trail system nestled at the base of the Ten Mile Range. Both groomed cross-country ski and snowshoe trails are available throughout the winter.
You can rent equipment for either snowshoeing or cross-country skiing and get lessons and tours. Group, private, and semi-private lessons are offered. Food, refreshments, beer, and wine, as well as a cozy fireplace, await inside the log lodge.
They open each season with the annual Nordic Ski Swap in Breckenridge. In March, they hold the Breckebeiner 60K Ski A Thon.
The Nordic Center is easy to reach, a half mile from Main Street or within walking distance of Peak 8 at the ski resort. It’s also on the Breck Ski & Ride Free Shuttle Buses, Black and Green bus routes, just ask for the Nordic Center. Parking is free there for those using the center.
