Since 1993, Wintermoon Sled Dog Adventures has toured the Telluride backcountry via dog sled. Tours department daily throughout the winter season.

Teams of Alaskan Huskies guide you on a variety of trails throughout the San Juan and Uncompahgre national forests. Up to two adults ride per sled plus a guide. Tours meet at 9 am in Telluride and return around 1 pm.

There is a 400-pound weight limit per sled, not including the guide. Those with a vehicle can meet at the trailhead, otherwise, transportation is provided from specified meeting areas in Telluride and Mountain Village.

You should dress for warmth and wear what you would skiing, waterproof everything, gloves, boots, a winter hat, etc. Overboots are available for those guests that need more insulation.
