Dao House – Estes Park

The Dao House is a wonderful mountain retreat center located across from the incredible 14,259-foot Longs Peak. This 3-star lodging and venue is nestled on 81 acres between Estes Park and Allenspark on CO-7, aka the Peak to Peak Byway.

The resort offers lodging rooms and one family cabin for rent, as well as venue space for a wide variety of events, including weddings. It’s used for meditation study, the practice of tai chi, qi gong, and shinrin-yoku.

Lodging Types

If you need to connect online, you’ll need to bring your own hotspot; there is no public wi-fi available. Pets are not permitted in the rooms, cabin, or property grounds due to the large amount of wildlife.

Lodging Rooms: There are 34 lodging rooms in the main building: 28 Double Queens and 6 Single Kings. Each room has a balcony, patio, or deck. Two-night stays are required on Friday and Saturday nights.

Rustic Adroushan Cabin: There’s also 1 family cabin for rent, the Rustic Adroushan Cabin. This one has two bedrooms and two bathrooms, a living room, a gas fireplace, and a kitchenette. There is a two-night minimum stay on this cabin.

Wedding and Event Venue

Home to one of the largest freestanding log cabins in America and a one-of-a-kind location in the “Valley of Peace”, Dao House makes a special spot for any event or retreat. Rent the venue for everything from workshops and seminars to weddings and group retreats.

There are ample meeting areas and community spaces, both inside and out. Each event is customized to meet the goals of your group. The 360-degree views make for an incredible occasion.

There is regular practice of meditation, tai chi, qi gong, and dao yin available to anyone who would like to participate. Classes are donation-based.

Experience the Japanese practice of shinrin-yoku, otherwise known as forest bathing. This is where you spend at least 20 minutes to a few hours basking in nature, using all your senses to be present and grounded. It’s a simple but powerful way to relax and relieve stress.

The Dao House has an incredible location against the Twin Sisters Peak in the Tahosa Valley at 9,200 feet (2,804 meters). It’s near enough to the Front Range Urban Corridor for easy access, but a world away in the Rocky Mountains. Access to Rocky Mountain National Park is a short drive away. Great shopping, restaurants, and entertainment are found 15 minutes to the north in Estes Park or 10 minutes south in Allenspark.
