Two stunning Ice Castles locations will open in Colorado in late December, including Cripple Creek and Silverthorne. Cripple Creek hosted the Ice Castles last year, and Silverthorne has hosted in previous years, although last year it was held in Eagle.
All of the ice for the castles is grown and harvested locally, and placed together one at a time. Construction begins in late October and is usually open for tours in late December. Weather pending, they plan to remain open into early March.

The Ice Castles feature frozen attractions suitable for all ages:
- Ice Slides
- Caverns and Archways
- Crawl Tunnels
- Ice Sculptures
- Frozen Tap

The Ice Castles will be built at the Outlets at Silverthorne, located beside the frigid Blue River. The company was founded in 2011 in Utah by Brent Christensen, who shared:
“We’re so excited to return to Silverthorne, where our first commercial Ice Castles came to life. Celebrating 15 years of magic here feels like coming full circle. We are grateful for the continued support of the Town of Silverthorne and Outlets at Silverthorne, whose partnership makes it possible to share the magic again.”

The Cripple Creek Ice Castles will be situated downtown, only a few minutes walk from the main drag of casinos. Both locations will feature an ice bar, so you can belly up for an alcoholic beverage themed for the season.
The features are dependent on the weather, so they may be temporarily closed. Tickets go on sale December 2nd, 2025. You’ll need a cell phone to purchase, as they are mobile delivery and use 1 QR code per purchase.
“Our primary goal at Ice Castles is to make people smile.”
