Denver Rail Heritage Society began service for the Platte Valley Trolley in 1989.​ The tour takes you around parts of downtown Denver, passing many historic and tourist attractions.

The train is a 1986 replica of a 1903 Brill open street car. It operates from late April through Halloween.

Departs: Downtown Denver on Friday-Sunday only. The first car departs at Noon; thereafter trips depart every 30 minutes; Last trip at 3:30pm.

Trip: 25 minutes – Begins at Confluence Park (near REI’s flagship store), then runs south (upriver) along the west side of the Platte River to Lakewood Gulch. The train passes a number of attractions like Sports Authority Field at Mile High and Elitch Gardens.

Local attractions include the Downtown Aquarium and Denver Zoo.
