Denver Rail Heritage Society began service for the Platte Valley Trolley in 1989. The tour takes you around parts of downtown Denver, passing many historic and tourist attractions.
The train is a 1986 replica of a 1903 Brill open street car. It operates from late April through Halloween.
Departs: Downtown Denver on Friday-Sunday only. The first car departs at Noon; thereafter trips depart every 30 minutes; Last trip at 3:30pm.
Trip: 25 minutes – Begins at Confluence Park (near REI’s flagship store), then runs south (upriver) along the west side of the Platte River to Lakewood Gulch. The train passes a number of attractions like Sports Authority Field at Mile High and Elitch Gardens.
Local attractions include the Downtown Aquarium and Denver Zoo.
