New Belgium is Colorado’s largest micro-brewery and home to the famed Fat Tire beer. It opened in 1991 and quickly grew a following. The brewery is located minutes from downtown Fort Collins in a modern, wind-powered facility.
On the tour enjoy live story-telling, beer tastings, art-gazing and more fun around the brewery. Tours are open to all ages and run year round, Tuesday through Saturday. They are by reservation only and led in small groups of about 20 people. Spots are reservable up to 2 months in advance.
When you first enter the brewery, you do so through the New Belgium Liquid Center. A wide selection of micro brews are on tap, from the common Fat Tire and Sunshine to the lesser known Lips of Faith beers. There’s also a small gift shop and a counter to check in for the tours.
The tour lasts 60-90 minutes and offers plenty of beer samples along the way. See the New Belgium website for openings, you can reserve tours online within 2 months.
Two other brewery tours in town include the micro-brewery, Odell and the giant Budweiser.
