The Views RV Park & Campground in Dolores is a great place to spend the night in nature while still having many home comforts. This 42-acre property in the heart of Southwest Colorado has incredible panoramic landscapes and outdoor activities at every turn.
This seasonal facility is only open from April 15 to October 31. As the name suggests, the sights are spectacular, and its location makes it easy to travel to all four corners of Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, and Arizona. Pets are allowed as long as they are well-behaved and stay outside of the property buildings.
Amenities
Camp in comfort at The Views, with easy access to miles of trails for exploring the surrounding area on foot or two wheels. Enjoy the free Wi-Fi, have a BBQ in the pavilion equipped with grills, and use the available stand-up paddleboards for rent for a great day on the lake.
There is a bathhouse with showers and a laundry room, so it’s simple to clean up after a day of hiking or camping. A memorable wedding ceremony could also be held at this location.
The campsite is right across the street from the entrance to McPhee Reservoir, where people can go fishing, boating, paddle boarding, and swimming. As a bonus, the Dolores River is close and offers more recreation opportunities. The Canyon of the Ancient Heritage Center is nearby. There are also several restaurants and breweries in Dolores where you can get more meals, snacks, and drinks.
Camping and Glamping Tents
There are 50 big RV sites with full hookups, tent sites, and three quaint glamping tents, all providing opportunities for breathtaking sunrises and sunsets. Guests with big-rig vehicles are welcome at this resort. The large trees in these locations add beauty and comfort through shade. Tents may be set up at many RV sites, so you can accommodate a larger group if necessary.
The campground has a 3–9 pm check-in time and an 11 am check-out time. Nightly and weekly rates are available. It’s first come, first served for tent sites; however, they have a small number of RV sites available for tent camping with water and power that you may reserve in advance.
The options for staying in a glamping tent include the following:
G1 and G2 – these are fully furnished with a heater, coffee/tea maker, microwave, mini-fridge, and a covered patio with a fire pit and Adirondack chairs. There’s a queen-size bed and towels inside. This option is best for a couple but may also accommodate a third adult or two young children.
G3 – this is a big, more basic room where guests must provide their own linens and toiletries. There is a king-sized bed, two twin cots, and a covered deck with two Adirondack chairs and a propane fire feature.
