Kit Carson is a tiny town in Eastern Colorado. There are only a few shops and restaurants in its historic downtown district, tucked away southeast of Limon. The population was only 255 in 2020.
Frontiersman Christopher Houston “Kit” Carson is for whom the town is named. There’s also a Kit Carson County, by the same name. However, its county seat is Burlington, while Cheyenne County, home to Kit Carson town, has a county seat of Cheyenne Wells.
