Top of the Rockies offers the closest zip line to Summit County, located only fifteen minutes south of Copper Mountain. It’s the only zip line in the world that soars over a moving train.
Six different zip lines fly over 8,000 feet across Lake County. They run daily throughout the year, except for short breaks from mid-April to mid-May and mid-November to mid-December. Snow zipping is offered during the winter season.
Zip Line Tour in Leadville
Guests start their day by boarding a 6 ton monster truck, a 4-wheel drive van or an ATV through the woods to the first tower. Shuttle depends on conditions and number of guests booked. You can also combine a summer zip line with a train ride on the Leadville Colorado & Southern Railroad.
Winter zip tours run about two hours. Guests take a snow cat up a steep trail to the first zip line deck at 11,200 feet above sea level. Tour guides offer local mining history and point out some of the old gold mines hidden under the snow. You can combine a winter zip line with a snowmobile tour. This packages comes complete with a delicious lunch served in a warm, alpine yurt.
Participants need to weigh at least 55 pounds and a maximum of 260 pounds. Women who are pregnant cannot zip line.
