Ramble at Great Sand Dunes National Park is an amazing campground nestled at 7,550 feet of elevation in the expansive San Luis Valley. Located in Mosca, Colorado, the Sangre de Cristo Mountains rise to the east, captivating from every campsite.
This family-friendly campground makes the perfect base for discovering the gems of the San Luis Valley. Colorado’s 4th largest peak, Blanca Peak, is within eyesight of your campsite and a short drive away.
Adventure Campground in San Luis Valley
Both tents and RV campers are accommodated here. At Ramble there are walk-in tent sites, RV and Tent sites in Signature and Signature Plus, as well as Group Tent, which is next to parking. There is a complimentary dump station for guests’ use.
Dogs are welcome and each campsite has a leash hook for your convenience. Near the bathhouse is a free dump station for guests with sewage and wastewater disposal. There’s a water spigot there to clean up.

- 2 tent pads, potable water, a food prep area, device charging, a sink for dishes, and 4 Adirondack chairs.
- Signature Plus: Tent & RV (next to site parking)
- 3 have tent pads, potable water, a food prep area, device charging, a sink for dishes, and 6 Adirondack chairs, a windbreak wall hammock, and cornhole tables.
- Group: Tent (next to site parking)
- Has 6+ tent pads, potable water, a food prep area, device charging, a sink for dishes, 6 Adirondack chairs, a windbreak wall hammock, cornhole tables, a daybed, 2 picnic tables, 2 double range gas stoves, playground set, kids picnic table.
Dump Station: Can accommodate disposal of sewage, and wastewater and includes a spigot for easy clean up.
Welcome Center — This interactive spot features a park map and information about the San Luis Valley region.
Private Bathrooms — Private bathrooms with flushable toilets, toilet paper, seat protectors, and showers are provided within walking distance of every campsite. There’s even a pet rinse area.

Mini-Store — A QR-code-based system allows you to purchase camping essentials like firewood and toiletries. They even sell Ramble merch.
Entertainment — Bike rentals are available at Ramble with an exclusive three-mile gravel path accessing additional BLM trails. There is also a 9-hole disc golf course spread over 40 acres. Compete against your friends at the horseshoe pits, corn hole boards, and various board games.

The campground is located within a designated IDA International Dark Sky Park. The night sky out is here impressive, 360-degree views of the stars and flying objects.
