With some of the most scenic drives in the country, Colorado is a great place to spend time on the road touring the Rocky Mountain landscape in a recreational vehicle. If you’d like to pause your road trip for a few casino games, there are a handful of RV parks that will allow you to stay minutes away from your next slot, table, or sportsbook.
Although there are hundreds of great campgrounds in the state, Colorado is home to only two casinos with their on-site RV parks, both on Ute Native reservations. The casinos are located on the Mountain Ute and Southern Ute Reservations in southwest Colorado, approximately 90 minutes from one another, traveling through Cortez and Durango.
Below, we’ll outline what to know when visiting both of Colorado’s casinos with RV parks before recommending a few places to stay near the state’s other gaming destinations.
Sky Ute Casino — near Durango/Pagosa Springs
Located approximately a half-hour southeast of Durango, the Sky Ute Casino features 24 dedicated RV spaces, including 3 ADA-accessible sites conveniently located directly next to the resort’s indoor complex.
Every site includes 20, 30, and 50 amp hook-ups as well as water and sewer connections. Onsite, the Sky Ute Casino provides guests with wifi, laundry facilities, showers, a pool, a fitness center, and other amenities.
Before setting your GPS here, it is critical to know that the Sky Ute Casino only offers its limited RV space for modern RV campers. According to the park’s website, campervans, pop-up tents, and classic RVs manufactured more than 15 years ago are not permitted to stay at the limited facilities.
Up-to-date RV Park information can be found by calling the resort’s customer service line. If the campground is full, it may also be possible to stay at the Sky Ute Fairgrounds and RV Park across the Los Pinos River from the center of Ignacio, which features more than 60 RV sites and tent camping options.
