With some of the most scenic drives in the country, Colorado is a great place to spend time on the road touring the Rocky Mountain landscape in a recreational vehicle. If you’d like to pause your road trip for a few casino games, there are a handful of RV parks that will allow you to stay minutes away from your next slot, table, or sportsbook.
Although there are hundreds of great campgrounds in the state, Colorado is home to only two casinos with their own RV parks, both on Ute Native reservations. The casinos are located on the Mountain Ute and Southern Ute Reservations in southwest Colorado, approximately 90 minutes from one another, traveling through Cortez and Durango.
Below, we’ll outline what to know when visiting both of Colorado’s casinos with RV parks before recommending a few places to stay near the state’s other gaming destinations.
Sky Ute Casino – near Durango/Pagosa Springs
Located approximately a half-hour southeast of Durango, the Sky Ute Casino features 24 dedicated RV spaces, including 3 ADA-accessible sites conveniently located directly next to the resort’s indoor complex.
Every site includes 20, 30, and 50 amp hook-ups as well as water and sewer connections. Onsite, the Sky Ute Casino provides guests with wifi, laundry facilities, showers, a pool, fitness center, and other amenities.
Before setting your GPS here, it is critical to know that the Sky Ute Casino only offers its limited RV space for modern RV campers. According to the park’s website, campervans, pop-up tents, and classic RVs manufactured more than 15 years ago are not permitted to stay at the limited facilities.
Up-to-date RV Park information can be found by calling the resort’s customer service line. If the campground is full, it may also be possible to stay at the Sky Ute Fairgrounds and RV Park across the Los Pinos River from the center of Ignacio, which features more than 60 RV sites and tent camping options.

While you could always find a free campsite to responsibly boondocking in the nearby Pike National Forest, we will outline 3 developed RV camping options that make it easy to visit the casinos of Cripple Creek, Colorado.

RV Parks near Blackhawk and Central City
Finally, with easy access from Denver, the towns of Blackhawk and Central City, Colorado feature the state’s largest and most popular casinos. Unfortunately, like Cripple Creek, neither of these Gilpin County towns have casinos with dedicated RV Parks.
To help you camp comfortably after a day on the casino floor, here are a few options for RVs near Blackhawk and Central City, Colorado.
Denver West / Central City KOA: Located just outside the heart of Central City, the Denver West KOA Holiday has big-rig-friendly RV sites with 50-amp hookups, wifi, cable, and scenic mountain views. Onsite, the KOA also offers lodging and tent camping sites as well as a hot tub/sauna.
Cold Springs Campground (Arapaho National Forest): If you’d like to trade in the day’s bright casino lights for an evening of Rocky Mountain serenity, simply take your RV to the Cold Springs Campground in the Arapaho National Forest. Located about 10 minutes north of Blackhawk, reservations for non-electric RV sites at the Cold Springs Campground can be made via recreation.gov.
Base Camp at Golden Gate Canyon: For the best of both worlds, the Base Camp at Golden Gate Canyon is a great, developed RV park right down the street from Cold Springs Campground, 10 minutes from Blackhawk. In addition to cabins and tent spaces, Base Camp offers water and electric RV hookups, as well as a gas station, camp store, laundry room, and picnic area on site.
