Box Canyon Lodge is a quaint Ouray hotel with natural, mountainside hot springs. The soaking tubs are available to overnight guests only and offer extraordinary 360-degree views of the San Juan Mountains.

They recently underwent renovations to the property, resulting in beautifully decorated room options and 7 new soaking tubs. The lodge is in a prime location within the town within a few blocks of dining and shopping. Ouray is filled with access to outdoor recreation and has been aptly nicknamed the “Switzerland of America”, so it’s a beautiful spot to explore on a weekend trip.

The lodge offers seven outdoor redwood pools filled with hot mineral water. The temperatures range between 103° and 108°F, perfect for soaking away the stresses of the day. Since the water is constantly flowing in and out there is no need for chemicals.

Most of the spring water in Ouray comes directly from Box Canyon, so you’re getting it fresh from the source. Common minerals in the water include sulfate, manganese, sodium, calcium, and many others that are known to have great health benefits.

Guests are welcome to enjoy the pools from 8 am to 10 pm, year-round. The tubs are situated on a terrace overlooking the San Juans, and they also offer spectacular stargazing at night.
