Boone, Colorado

Boone is a plains town located about twenty miles east of Pueblo, Colorado. With a a population of 339 in 2010 there isn’t too much activity is this rural statutory town. It’s included in the Pueblo, CO Metropolitan Statistical Area.

History

During the Pikes Peak Gold Rush, a man by the name of Albert Gallatin Boone settled in  Booneville, which would later be shortened to Boone. He served as the town’s original postmaster and had a short stint as an agent to the Cheyenne and Arapaho tribes. Located in Pueblo County at 4,465 feet, the town was incorporated on September 22nd, 1956.
